The temple is a pattern for our lives. It shows us how to walk on the Path back to God and it is a template of how to run our homes. We spent the first few minutes seeing the pattern within the tabernacle framework. The temple is like a physical Plan of Salvation.

We talked about a short history of temple and comparison of sizes. Then we talked about the history and the importance of altars and how we continue to have altars today. I introduced you to the word Shekinah, the pillar of fire by night and cloud by day. This describes the presence of God.

Possible Take Aways:

  • Patterns of three are easily found in the temple.
  • The Plan of Salvation is taught in the temple.
  • Architecture of the temple affects our worship.
  • Just as the altar represents Christ so does the temple.
  • The temple is the Presence of God on Earth.
  • Creation & Fall stories are necessary part of the temple experience, we go in reverse back through them.
  • The door was opened and veil were rent so we can go back through.
  • The cloud and fire worked together for our good.
  • The sacrament and the temple ordinances are all about coming to Christ.

In this class we talked about the roles of the Levites and how they were the keepers of the temple and teachers among the tribes. We also learned about the Nazarite and how they are self-appointed teaches among the people from any tribe. How are you like the Levite? The Nazarite?

We touched on the cornerstone tribes being Judah, Reuben, Dan and Ephraim and their respected emblems of lion, man, eagle and ox/bull.

Then we labeled each piece of the Biblical Tabernacle. We viewed many different progressions through the tabernacle and compared how we manipulate light and height to portray progression they manipulated smells, sounds, shadows and temperature.
